The problem
The shop is a Main Street fixture but online it was a list of third-party ordering pages. There was nowhere that showed the menu, the story, and the hours in one place, and nothing the family could update themselves.
What a site like this needs to do
- Show the full menu with prices in real text, not a photo
- Send orders to ChowNow so the shop keeps the margin
- Give the family one file to edit for menu, hours, and specials
- Load fast and set no cookies or trackers
- Read as a real neighborhood shop, not a template
The approach
Salvatore’s has been on East Main Street since 1974. People who grew up on a slice after school now bring their own kids in. Online, none of that existed. The shop was a set of ordering links with no home of its own.
The site is one page. It opens on the pizza, moves through the story, the signature orders, the full menu, hours, and where to find the shop. The primary button is Order Online, which goes to the shop’s ChowNow page so there is no commission on the order. The phone is the backup.
Everything the business changes over time lives in one file. A price, a new menu item, today’s special, the hours: the family edits one object and every section rebuilds itself. Nothing else has to be touched.
It is built for speed and privacy. Fonts are self-hosted. There are no analytics, no pixels, and no cookies unless a visitor turns them on. The map only loads if the visitor asks for it. A fresh page load makes zero third-party requests. There is also a scroll-driven canvas sequence in the middle of the page for atmosphere, which drops to a single still image when a visitor prefers reduced motion.
